Since then, I came straight to Alaska and taught four years in a small Yupik-Inupiaq village of Elim on the Seward Peninsula. What a crazy four years that was! I think all teachers should start in the bush, it gives you a whole new perspective on teaching. I was hired here at Schoenbar last year and teach Geography, US History, and Current Events. The students here are awesome and I enjoy it very much. My wife Marisa Frey teaches at Point Higgins elementary school and also is having a blast! We will be celebrating our first child's birthday (Carol Viggia) on Thanksgiving this year. Oh how the time flys by! I enjoy sea-kayaking, alpine skiing, and hanging out with my family. Most of all, I enjoy eating my wife's wonderful cooking as she has been trained by two generations of traditional Italian cooks. Lucky me!
